I went to the track the other day and ran very bad times (14.8) with ok 60 foots (2.22). So I go over to their scale and it says my car weighs 3440lbs with me in it. I dont understand why it's so heavy. It's a GTS and the only extra options it has are power mirrors and rear defroster. On top of that I've done weight reduction including light seats, catless mid pipe, no dogbone, no strut brace, I took out the rear seats and the passenger seat, aluminum ds, and I only weigh 195lbs. Where could my extra weight be coming from or am I just crazy. GTS's are supposed to weigh around 3200lbs right?

How much gas was in the tank?

My GT was 3504 with me in it, and I'm 220 lbs. I had just over 1/4 tank of gas

Different Scales give different weights. Maybe the one you used overestimated. I wouldn't worry too much.

Amen. In any event, a stock GTS weighs 3245 dry.

you probably just had too much gas

without any weight reduction except for the strut tower brace and the jack and spare gone. and the addition 2 12s 2 amps a crossover and amprack, power leather seats ... my car weighed 3240 with a little under a 1/4 tank

i dropped 160 pounds out of it and it picked up ALOT

next time out I am looking to dip under the 3000 mark

3440 - 195 = 3245lbs. How is that heavy? Thats 200lbs lighter than my V6 Acura & 400lbs lighter than an 03 Cobra.

You arent heavy, you just need better tires & more mods.
