And I got called up for fed jury duty starting Monday. I asked the judge for a deferment and it was denied.

Did your homeowners say if your going to be OK. Sounds crazy , but you have to know. I dont trust any insurance companies.

Still don't know. I haven't even heard from my agent yet, only his assistant. We are really feeling in the dark at this point.

I probably still have the 2 page ad for the 87 GT that looked like this. I hope you get it fixed or replaced.

Would it make sense to buy s clean roller with the insurance payment and transfer everything over?

The car runs and drives. Nothing on the engine was damaged as far as I can tell. Same with the interior (except it smells like a campfire inside now). I think all the damage is exterior. The door lock and solenoid started working again so I think they were frozen from the fire dept water hoses.

Hagerty got back to me. Estimated damage is $6500. They are fixing it and it won't be totaled until the full insured value is reached.

I'll be taking it to a shop in Loveland in a week or so to have them do an estimate.

Colorado Mustang Specialists said they sell Mustang parts almost weekly to this shop. I talked to them on the phone and they sounded receptive to making sure I was happy with the quality of work. They even said I could come down on a Saturday to have them look at the car. I would just need to schedule it ahead of time.

This probably goes without saying, but when you take your car to that shop for them to look at it, see if they have any finished work you can look at. You also wouldn't be too far out of line to ask for some customer references. You've been through enough already without having your car get stuck in paint jail, or a bad repair job.

They offered to show me their portfolio, and they said they deal with Hagerty quite often. I agree with what you're saying though.

Do body shops normally have a warranty?

The shop I work at has a lifetime warranty on workmanship, parts are whatever the part manufacturer warranty is, and our paint supplier will warranty their product, and pay our labor to redo for life. I think that is pretty standard, but I would ask.

From what I see in the pictures $6500 sounds like a decent number, good to know because I have Hagerty as well.

If it were me in that situation even though I live in Michigan and it would be a hell of a drive I would be using @Davedacarpainter.

Explain to me haggerty? I have a challenger scat pack already and got a Fox a month ago to tinker with. My current insurance is cheap like 20 bucks a month for full coverage. Ive had them for year, them fixing minor damage I have zero concern. But if it came to totaling they will pay 100% of average NADA retail which is good because I paid less for it. now with some cleaning and a few repairs I could probably get a little more than average retail. As the car sits for its age and all I probably give it a 7 of 10. Question is if and when I decide to make it something of more value, I would want something like haggerty.

So like on your car I am assuming they do agreed value much like a boat, you pay more for it but get more coverage. Cars like these what they are valuing them for or up to?
