Yes, it's an agreed upon value. As far as how much, that is between you and Hagerty to figure out. I'm getting the car appraised after the repairs are complete to see if I need more coverage than the current $12k.

Im sure you can get a real good job . I think you can get sanded down to metal on the top , hood and trunk at least. You will be a happy camper in the end. The house will probably be a different story.

You guys and your sweet talk, it brought me back from the dead.:fap:

Man does that suck some dirty old balls.

The car doesn’t look bad though. New plastics and a paint job.

I probably would be a little paranoid about the rubber brake and fuel lines too.

Truthfully, if any of you guys were able to get your car here to Tulsa (Sapulpa to be specific). I would baby the crap out of it.

You would be amazed what a true detail shop would do for the smell in the interior. They can get a dead body smell out, smoke is nothing.

That shop you are taking the car to for an estimate sounds fairly legitimate to me. Only custom shops keep books that show the work they‘ve done. Thats a plus. Still dependent on their techs and how they are though. I know I take some rough work from some of our body men and fix it before I do my thing.

Hope the repairs turn out good. With new paint it might even look better. Glad to hear Hagerty is working out. I recently put my two Foxbodys and one Vette on Hagerty. They asked me what I thought they were worth. I said. "92 fox 10k. 93 fox 5k, 96 vette 10k. They didn't flinch at all and accepted those numbers without even looking at my cars.

I've got CWG for my insurance on my 92 notch, originally a 4cyl, agreed value at $15k and all they wanted was pics from when I got it in 2012 where I said $8k. Since then I've almost doubled the agreed value, and the paint/body is "meth-head toddler bad" and @Davedacarpainter can attest... always over value on the insurance, it really isn't that much more expensive, I think I'm around $250ish a year for my plan.

What is CWG?

Continental Western Group, I only know about it from my independent agent who said it was the best deal for me. So far, It's been great cost wise and service wise, but I've never had a claim yet so I can't speak to that. But if they don't cover the "zombie drool" that messed up my paint from this Covid-19 nonsense I'm gonna be pissed. :D

I called the body shop today. They've been slow so they had 3 people working on it and it's almost done. They are waiting on some trim, and they still need to install the subframe connectors.

They were supposed to send me pictures but I haven't received any yet. According to them the car was completely repainted. Hopefully they did a good job.

Cant wait to see it. Im in the that trade. We have slowed down a lot since this started. Crazy. Hows your house?

At a complete stand still. The contractor hasn't even applied for any permits and the asbestos abatement is supposed to start on the 20th. I still don't have temporary power. I've already given them $33k and nothing has been done yet. Starting to get upset.

Just read through this thread. Sorry to hear about the fire. I'm glad you are getting the car fixed at a good shop. I hope things get better with the house. No offence to any contractors reading this, but I draw up when I have to get them involved with anything anymore. I always feel like I'm being taken for a ride. I wish I could find someone local that was a straight shooter and reliable. Seems like you get one or the other most of the time.

As a contractor myself , this is a bad time for them to have any kind of deposit. Your house is so messed up I would shop for a lawyer to handle some of this. Check them for price to make sure they are not scum . Hope your ok , thats a lot of stress.

Dang Jeff, that sucks so bad!

I wonder why the contractor hasn’t applied for the permits? Are those offices closed down right now because of this damned virus?

I sure hope and pray for you brother that things finally start moving soon.

To the best of my knowledge, they haven't even applied for the permit, and they should have done that 3 weeks ago for temporary power and asbestos abatement. Now the city employees are a skeleton crew so who knows when the permit will be issued. As soon as I signed to work authorization the general permit process should have been started, that was over a month ago.

The project manager is very new, and from what I understand this is his first job on his own. So far I'm not impressed and have been in contact with his boss. I doubt we will be able to move in by the end of the year at this point unless the pace picks up real fast.

Meanwhile I'm paying a mortgage and rent.

A friend of mine went over to the shop and took some pictures for me.
