Loss of power: Progressively worse when in higher gears. Occurring around 2000 rpm most often (since more noticeable in higher gears and under load). Feels similar to when the traction control cuts engine, but it is repetitive. Happens almost always when at half throttle or more, but not explicity; It has happened when hardly giving it gas at all. It will accelerate for about 300 rpm, then cut out and hesitate, then accelerate and so on all the way to redline. It happens most often on the freeway.
Sometimes it’s fine. It seems as though if I drive my car "nicely" gradually stepping on the gas it will drive fine. Alternatively if I don't drive smooth it happens. Especially if I’m irritated and drive it hard.
I changed fuel filter. Nothing. Ran fuel system cleaner through 2 tanks. Cleaned Throttle body and PCV. I've taken it to AutoZone to check any codes for misfires etc: Nothing. Reset computer, drove hard taken back to AutoZone, no codes. Taken to mechanic, no codes. They checked fuel pressure: fine, 37 psi at idle. They replaced MAF: drove great for 3 days, now its back. Probably was never fixed, I just drove it nice. $400 bucks down the drain.
I've searched threads about MAF, Fuel Pumps, Filters, Throttle position sensors, Traction control, hesitation, Misfiring. I feel like it has to be some sensor going bad maybe Throttle position or air temp. Maybe it’s the entire computer. Who knows hopefully someone on here?
