Well, I haven't really told too many people about this, I'm kinda keeping it on the down low around here. I thought it would just be cool to cruise into the local hangout with a completely different car, but the excitement has gotten me to the point where I think I'm going to blow up if I don't tell someone, so what forum is better than stangnet to share this with? None, that's who.

So a few of you guys have seen my car:

Punisher302 posted it up a while ago.
When I bought the car, I wasn't particularly fond of the color scheme.
The red REALLY pops, and the white stripes glow fluorescently .
You can see my car for quite a distance when I'm on the road, which is something I don't really like. Low key is how I like to stay.

So I finally gathered up enough cash to do what I'd wanted to do for a while.
I wanted to ditch the colors, but keep the same thick striped theme, the colors to be were Du Pont's Metallic Pepper Grey with metallic black stripes.
I wanted to go with an Eleanor theme, so I picked those colors and added ABC exclusive side exhaust skirts.

Here is the car a few weeks ago:

I pulled the engine to clean it up, replace whatever needed replacing, hide some wires and paint the engine bay.
I also threw in a steeda #19 cam, deleted egr/smog pump, had the upper/lower intake ported a little and have a custom burnt chip on its way.

Here is the car as it sits now:

The engine should be going in tomorrow and I'm hoping to get everything together by sunday.

Updates soon. :)

Let me know what you guys think.

Going to be delicious.

I do have to say that when I saw the first two pics, I thought it was a model car and this was going to be prank.

I thought it was a model too! That thing looked mean. I hope you didn't remove a perfectly good paint job. I guess I know what you mean keeping it low key though.. can't wait to see the final product :nice:

Not really, the car did need a paint job so he killed 2 birds with 1 stone. It's going to look killer! I keep asking for pics, but his g/f won't let him take them from her camera.:rlaugh:

Thanks for the compliments guys.

The paint that was on the car was already done for.
There were a couple small spots on the fenders and decklid that had good sized chips coming off already and the stripes were peeling at the back of the roof.

Whoever owned the car before me sure did do a number on this car.

Countless cheap fixes here and there.

Right now I'm finishing connecting all the wires that go on the motor, then its going in.

I'd say maybe about an hour before it's ready to drop in, wish me luck in not scratching anything, haha.

Love it.

Since my car is black already I have thought about doing the reverse of your new paint job (grey stripes on black car) as one thing to do when I get around to a new paint job.

post pics when it is done...looks great so far :nice: .

Thanks again for the compliments guys. Made some progress, got the engine and tranny in, everything connected as well. But, the car didn't start. It cranked just fine, but didn't start, I'm thinking it has to do with the timing, I'll reset the dizzy and try it again once I get more time. Also, when we got the engine/tranny in and bolted down, if found that my clutch fork was loose :( I'm hoping i can get it back on there without taking the tranny off.

looks sweet :nice:

i wanna sound clip of the steeda 19 :)

Sure thing man.

really looking forward to when it's done. sickest stance on an SN i've seen, hands down.

if i don't go to Corpus this weekend, i'll stop by to help, meng.

Thanks man, help is always welcome; hopefully, though, I'll be done by then. I'm hoping to have it ready by this weeks hangout. All i need is to get it started, reposition the fork, throw exhaust/ds back on there and put the interior back in.

update:

We got the engine in this past weekend, but homework has kept me from doing much more.

So throughout the week I was doing small things here and there, and discovered that in the process of putting the tranny in, the clutch fork didn't mount right, so we took it off and put it on right today. We also did a number of other things and I got so carried away, i didn't notice the time. It is 2 am here, haha.

The car is basically ready to go, BUT, on start up, coolant started leaking from the back of the engine, I was already kicking myself and getting upset and was searching for the leak, when I realized it was coming from the heater hose. There was a small hole I forgot to fix on the hard line @%^*$, so I'll get to that tomorrow. Other than that, I just have to set my timing to 10*, reinstall the interior and wait for my tune in the mail. Oh, and take pics and post them here. :nice:
