Progress Thread My centrifugal ppl, how’s this deal?

I’d replace those bolts. Would be a pain to torque those down.

when I did my taillights, I got a beat up pair of 83-86 GT lights, painted the bar and edges black, and then clearcoated the entire lens. I then added the 1/4” black pinstriping myself. Did this 20 years ago and held up great. I agree that the black looks much better. I think the 84 SVO lights were black, 85-86 and 93 cobra were gray.

Where did you find the pin stripe? 3m brand?

Been wanting to clean up my engine bay for awhile now, and wanted to offset the dark whole it has turned into with a little bit of bling! But nothing crazy! I know I know no ac it’s not for HP reasons!! I just think these engines look clean with a little less of the mess!! Plus I like seeing the front of the heads etc! I don’t care about AC, I don’t drive the car enough on a regular basis that it’s gonna matter, plus I’ve been cruising with windows down for about 10 years. Anyways, I then had my Master Mechanic double check everything and she said all looks well. Also on spraying these after I prepped them now I’m thinking about just spraying the stripes at the same time so might need to re prep, but I have this bumper trim spray, but should I maybe use this SEM black gloss trim spray instead???

I guess the picture makes that intake disappear more than in person. I think the bay looks good! What about some red in the fins of the intake just to make it pop a little bit!
I’m in the no AC club for now too! It didn’t work, and I like the cleaner look. We’ll see down the road, but right now it’s on the real long list!

Ha yeah it’s not bad normally in good lighting but in the garage it usually makes it look dark. I thought about painting in between the fins or sanding back the tops of the fins and polishing them, but the red sound good to

Ok so I have that 351 and came across this deal locally that I couldn’t pass on. Tfs R series intake, and a 351 MSD dizzy. The price was nuts, came with a BBK TB and spacer and he threw in some other parts since he parted out his 351 turbo coupe, to LS swap :cautious: and apparently I missed out on a great deal on a T56 with drive shaft so that sucks but oh well. Sold off the TB/spacer, alt, my old pulleys, What was this little guy for here? Still need to powder coat this and in the process of getting a custom logo plate for it.

was tempted to do what was done to my valve covers and sand back on the fins. Decided to buy some 1/8 metallic silver pinstripe instead to see what I thought. I’m digging it! Now idk how good this pinstripe is and what it’s gonna do once the intake, engine bay heat etc happens. I’m guessing it will either bake on a little or peel up lol. Idk?!?! I thought about the comment of how dark the intake was and always kinda thought so myself. This just gives it a little pop!

Alright sprayed the taillights , I gave them a light sand, cleaned, sprayed with some plastic adhesion spray, did some light coats, came out good besides a small run on each lens. How can I clean that up? Do I just sand it down then re spray?

If the runs are in the clear coat you can wet sand them down with progressively finer grits , 1000, 1200, 1500, 2000
but be careful not to sand through.
Then you would need to buff those areas with a cutting compound then a
finish / polishing compound.
