I have had a metal shop for over 3 years, but ran into money problems to put it up. I got the foundation ready for the cement but never got it cemented. Now I have the money to get it cemeneted and finish putting it up, but the city wont renew my permit because they believe metal buildings are "ugly" :nonono: So now I have a metal building laying in my yard but I can't build it in my own yard. :owned:

This is my own property that I own and pay taxes on, but I can't do what I want to do on it. :bang:

I can put it up if, i brick it, stucco, or put wood on it but thats going to cost alot.

Oh hell yeah....f the city codes and what they think.....we have that kind of bs here as well. There is another suburb of Toledo named Ottowa Hills (where Katie and Tom) bought a house that is strict and they told this nice older lady she could not have flowers at the street and fined her. She painted with a brush....WELCOME TO OTTOWA HELL, COMMUNIST COMMUNITY.. in white paint on her dark garage door....it has been up for over a year and the city keeps fighting her on it.....good old freedom of speech.........

our town bitches about cars parked in your own yard they have bitched about mine a few times when I was working on it and it was out of inspection said they would fine me if i didn't get it taged and inspected

thats what the city will complain about next. My yard has a few cars sitting in it, but thats what the "ugly" metal building was for.

IMO, metal looks as good if not better than most wood.
