heres my current project thats been keeping me busy to get ready for this install day

Install polished fox valve covers, Polished Fox upper intake, Fox TB conversion, EGR delete, Air Delete, MSD Ignition.

valve covers are installed. the passenger side was a b*tch to do. AIR delete is almost done. all i have to do is block off the heads and gut the smog pump. EGR delete is halfway done. i have to block off the header bung and finish modifying the sensor. i need some hose Bolts, and plugs for the upper and that can be installed. still have to install the fox throttle cable and wire in the tps. Still waiting for the MSD stuff to come in. i was told monday or tuesday so i'll give a call tommorow.

so far i really like it even tho its still not done and the car is still jacked up. Its pretty much what i was imagining. some black here and there in a sea of polished up items

not to many pics. i was to busy trying to get some work done

pics dont do any justice. looks alot better in person and in better lighting

heres some pics:

more pics and some updates tommorow !!!!!

That's looking good! Any certain reason you went with a stock fox intake? I'm sure its better than our stocker, but why another stock one??? It looks really good though.

thanks guys.

i had it laying around in my basement. i polished it up to sell but nobody was interested in it so i just kept it. then i decided to use with a elbow but then decided a fox TB conversion will be cheaper and the added throttle response is something that i really want.

this intake compared to stock is huge. i was actually afraid the hood wasnt going to close and i have a Cervinis ram air hood with a 3.5" cowl LOL

the longer runners should give me a little better breathing on the top end i'm thinking

another update:

i gutted the smog pump today. spins alot easier now and was pretty easy to do.

i also pluged the egr lines, installed the throttle cable, installed the AIR pump, rigged up the EGR sensor and pre-assembled the CAI too. Should tommorow morning if everything goes right.

heres some pics:

well shes all done.

well sort of.

i plugged the ports on the intake that i'm not using, installed the intake, installed the hoses, connected the throttle cable.

i then realized that i didnt have the connector for the TPS. so i just spliced in the wires before the connectors on both ends till i get the tps connector.

i then drilled the cai for the IAC and installed that.

i didnt know what to do with the EGR on the header so i just heated the end of the broken pipe and squished it shut until i get access to a welder and cut it off and weld it completly shut.

the only thing left to do was adjust the tps. after trying to probe the wires and elongating the holes the most i could get was .90 volts even tho they recommend .94-.98 volts.

the next thing to do was fire it up. i go start the car and it fired right up. it sounded different that was for sure. i didnt even had to mess with the idle. it was perfect and the same as before. the car sounded like it was about to stall so i gave it some throttle a few times. i noticed that the Temp fix for the EGR was leaking but was ok for now, and the block off plate i made for the EGR spacer was leaking too so i got to fix that. valve covers werent leaking so thats a plus.

i took the car off the jack stands and fired it back up again and the idle smoothed out. probably the computer adjusting itself????? as soon as i turned out of the driveway i noticed a hugh difference. **MY CARS AN AODE** i dont have to give as much gas anymore. alot better throttle response. the pedal feels more stiff now too not soft like the stock one. i just took it around the block so didnt really get a good chance to test it out but noticed a difference for sure all around. it also feels like the car revs up a little before it starts to move. must be from the EGR leaks.

i still havent gotten my MSD stuff and i need to pick up my EGR cable and TPS connector

i'll post pics soon and have a better response to how it feels

i finally adjusted the TPS to .98 volts but havent driven the car since the test drive.

i think it looks pretty sweet so far. just have to fix the EGR crap, install the MSD stuff, paint the CAI a glossy black and then make a intake plate for the top.

here are some more pics:

this ones my favorite so far:

Looks good man, nice job on the polishing! Do you still have the stock EGR tube that connects from the EGR to the pass. side header? If it is still in good shape I would be interested in it. PM me if you want to sell it. Thanks.

thanks guys.

only if you want it in 2 pieces LOL. after taking the EGR off the intake i noticed that the tube was cracked in the middle. probably what was causing that fluttering sound while accelerating.

We have to meet up some time ARBOC. i want to hear how those long tubes sound. this is probably CAI number 4 that i had on my car. i'm selling my old one to a friend. after you see it in person and like it, then i can build you one.

That looks really good. Why didn't you just use a shorter belt and take off the air pump all together? I just pulled mine off and used a 90 5/8" 6 rib belt from napa. I had to reroute it a little, but I got rid of the air pump all together. Just wondering, thats all. Good job, she's lookin really good.

sorry for the late reply. slowly been working on it and fixing the little things.

i made a gasket for the egr block off on the egr spacer and no leaks from there anymore. decided to change the spark plugs on the car while i was at it and indexed them too. really easy to do considering all the smog stuff is no longer there. i adjusted the TPS to .97-.98 volts. i also removed that damn egr tube on the header. i had a propane torch and heated the crap out of it and had to use a cresent wrench with a long bar to crack it loose. i got a 5/8 Flare nut like the one that RIO used and it fit perfect. no leaks from there either.

even tho its slowly starting to snow here, i decided to go for a quick spin around the block. its really cold out so i had the windows up and i could really hear the intake/CAI sucking in air. alot more then before. as soon as i opened the window a crack, i couldnt here it over the exhaust. i'll try to make a video when i can and when the weather gets better. i couldnt really get on it because of the wet streets and the tires slipping but i really like not having to give as much throttle to get it moving.

i decided to gut the pump instead of running a shorter pump because i wasnt to sure on what size to get with my march pulleys and the belt is still pretty new and didnt want to wait for a idler pulley because i want to run a vortech supercharger in the future.

i couldnt make it to the meeting on tuesday, didnt want to take the car out untill it was finished. maybe next time

hopefully i'll get a better chance to test out the car soon

i have almost brand new Goodyear 245's on my stock waffles with lots of tread left.

i didnt give it any wheres near half throttle. i dont even like driving in the rain unless i'm stuck in it.

hopefully i can get some 17's that will handle better then what i have now
