I just wanted to let you guys know my thoughts on the exhaust systems I've tried out within the past few weeks...

Initially I started out with BBK Longtubes, O/R H-pipe and Flowmaster 40's. This setup sounded absolutely amazing, but the flowmasters just rattled too much no matter how many times I tightened it down.

I switched to a Bassani S/S cat-back and the quality of the kit was absolutely outstanding. The fitment was perfect and I was very pleased with the kit as a whole. When I started up the car however, I was a little disappointed. It just wasn't as loud as the Flowmasters, but it did have a sound like I've never heard before on a 5.0 above 2500rpm (great). Despite the unique sound, it was just too quiet.

I finally switched to the SLP Loudmouth II system (I've heard the originals are just simply too loud). The quality and fitment were right up there with the Bassani, but the price was significantly less. The sound is unreal...Idle and normal driving were similar to the Flowmaster, but WOT is out of control loud. Truly an 8-Cylinder symphony.

This all happened within the past 2 weeks, so my ears have had a fresh comparison of the different systems. Hopefully that will help people out a little more when they are struggling to pick a system.

On a side note, I dealt with Ninosport and they were outstanding. Customer service was top notch and they were also willing to take back the Bassani. Deal with them if you can as they have excellent prices as well.

Take care guys.

Yeah, they took it back after installation. There were a couple issues I was having with my particular application that will hopefully cause them to waive the restocking fee.

I drove about 500 miles with the Bassani's on...They sounded good, but were definitely too quiet.

So which setup did you like the most.. like.. which one kind of gave you the shivers because it sounded so damn good I have flowmasters with the stock H (i know i know..) and Im contemplating going an offroad pipe. Im looking for a sweet agressive sound, I remember when I was young I used to hear certain mustangs drive by and my jaw would drop. That sound got me into loving mustangs, thats the sound im lookin for (I know I didnt do a great job of explaining it.. but maybe you will get the idea)

off road H and original 40's are the best combo on a 5.0 hehe that's what you remember hearing ...on another note nice man!! glad you're happy. for some reason i don't think bassani has that classic "mustang" sound.

NOTHING sounds like a Ford V-8 with Flowmaster's.

However, I am waiting to install some MAC mufflers on mine, anxious to hear those.

The Borla's are very nice too, but somewhat expensive.

My MAC Flowpath sound freakin awesome. I've had flows as well, and I can honestly say that I wouldn't take one over the other, I like them both.

I have the borla for the svo side exhaust, I'm scared they're gonna sound like crap. I've never heard them before in person.

Flowmaster sound the best, period. I only switched from them because I don't feel they are constructed all that well.
