my family.......

Not yet .....

Nice family you have there. I'm glad people like you are out there. If not, I would not be here today. It takes a special type of person to do it and I commend you. Congrats!

Applause!

It sounds as though it might not have been a planned decision, and as was mentioned, Uncle Cobra took the bull by the horns!

Good man!

yeah, it was not a planned thing....a year ago last May dhs took the kids from my sister and her common law ex-husband...actually let me start at the beginning....a year ago last january my sister and her husband split up and decided to split visits w/ the kids.....one to get them for 3 days and the other for 4....until the fathers mother (the kids grandma) decided she wanted the kids, so she called dhs on my sister( the parents are both into drugs, etc) and wasn't smart enough to realize dhs would investigate both families....so the grandma lost them also in May...by the time i found out they were in dhs custody and able to get them it was the first of august 2005.... since then my sister has lost all parental rights and is currently looking at 12 years in prison, she's not to bright :bang: .... i mean i figured you have your kids taken away and they should be a reason to straighten up....and the father has a court date middle of next month (october) then he's suppose to loose his parental rights....since loosing the kids he's had another baby w/another woman, been arrested for drugs, and stolen property, suppose to take and pass 3 random drug test, take a psych evaluation, parental classes, and anger management class....their alot more..thanks for letting me vent to whoever read this and if you want to hear more or want to know specifics just respond.....thanks, jimmy :flag:

all i can say is... wow. i thought serving my country was considered "manning up", but you have def. taken the cake. its a shame to hear this kind of stuff. at what point does someone wake up and go "what the hell have i been doing!?".

not sure, but everytime the kids dad goes to court all he says he loves his kids and miss them very much and he has tried everything he can to get them back...so all they (the court) do is look at him and are like yeah right....by law they are given atleast 15months to straighten themselves out he has been given 17 months by next court date......after having these kids for this long i can't imagine not having them....

It's probably a good thing the authorities got involved. Now instead of being with their parents(as bad as that sounds), they get to look up to you. Hopefully they'll compare how their parents' lives are and how life with you is, and make the smart decisions themselves when they grow up.:nice:

Whether or not it's super apparent to ya, you have redefined 3 little bubbas and sister's lives! What greater gift can you give? :hail2:

no kids here, the wife and I are kinda planning for them in the next few years though.

WOW, that is one hellova thing to do:hail2: . I had some ****ty perental stuff from my father (never met him) and my step dad (dumb, put me threw alot of BS) and a mother who really didnt do a whole lot to help.

Kinda (but not as extreme) from the eyes of those kids, great to see people who can make a diff. do something. Are the kids in pscyh. at all to help work threw it?

yes, they have a counciler(?) they meet with every week....they boys have one and the girl has her own.... they have seen alot in they're young lives....i'll say these things as example of what they have seen and been through....
-after having the kids for 1 month, the middle child asked my wife why we don't fight like their real mom and dad( when they fought they hit, threw stuff, and tore clothes) and my wife said that normal people don't do that
-when the oldest was 3 yrs old he was in their backyard collecting grass clippings and putting them in a bag, when asked what are you doing, he responded colloecting my weed!!
-also as an example, they parents would allow all the kids to sleep w/ them and when they thought the kids were asleep they would do adult stuff and they wouldn't even get up and go to another room....
these are just a few examples of the crap they had to deal with.......

blksn955.0, i hope you the best of luck starting your family when you do... i keep this in mind everyday, and i hope this will help you...i think that i want them and me to do better then what they had have....i want them to have a chance at life.....and i hope they are able to get past the fact that their parents weren't the best parents, and that its not the kids fault( we tell the kids that its not their fault) you can tell them but sometimes they think that....
