Well last night I raced a stock 92 integra vtec lol haha not even a race...just wanted to show that kid he doesnt have a fast car. But the next race was kinda close and I guess that its correct. It was a 91 300zx n/a. We are both pushing around the same hp (stock) so I guess its right that we tied. I had a jump but he seemed to keep up easily even pull a little close. I'm completely stock aode vert. So I guess its mod time! I'm thinking about 3.73s, cat-back (my dad wont let me get an o/r pipe and I can't shell out 350 for a catted one), 2600 stall converter and a shift kit. Hopefully this will wake my car up a lot!

HAHAHAHA!!! I love doing that man.

As for the mods. Get 4.10s and a 2800 stall. You will regret the 3.73s in that auto. 4.10s should have been my first mod.

Hell I'm getting a 2800 stall in the near future and I'm basically pure stock. I forgot to mention, a shift kit and transmission cooler are good starter mods also.

that was my first race also.. a vtec integra. lets just say it wasn't pretty. went from a dig and murdered him, then went from a roll at 30 and still beat him pretty bad.

4.10's will really wake that auto up! I don't know what it will RPM on the hwy though. For some reason I have heard it will idle lower than a 5 speed but I don't know if that is true or false.

Mine idles pretty low, .5k. When I'm crusing at 60 with o/d on, it's at 2.5k. With o/d off, I'm at a little over 3k.

hmm, are you sure you pulled on the 300zx ? Your GT VERT AODE is heavy and slow, stock. I think the 300ZX would have got ya by a car.. but who knows.

One of my first races in the stang was against an Integra. We raced from a stoplight and I wiped the floor with him. It was bad, I had about 2 car lengths or more on him by the time he made it through the intersection. Then he ran the next red light and turned onto the interstate. I followed him when the light turned green and let him keep up with me for a minute, then I left him so bad I could barely see his headlights when I let up. We did this a couple more times. I think he was pissed, but his girl was laughing!

No I said he was pulling on me. I got a jump out of the hole but he slowy started to pull up to me but never passed me. We shut down before he could. I understand we should be around the same...we both have around 220fwhp and are both heavy. He has a 5sp and I had auto though.

Yea been there in the spanking the integra 95LS (he is a good friend of mine) but the time of being able to beat him is over. A new golden eagle sleeved block, LS v-tec swap head, 84mm big bore 2.0L alum. block. countless electrnoic do dads SAFC turbo timer, Chrome program which we also data log off of and burn chips via lap top (on the fly) not to mention a huge front mount intercooler and a big T-3/T-04 Turbo.
Estimated 420-450 RWHP not bad for a car that started out at 118hp.
I'm sure after the H/C/I swap this winter and a lil juice ill put him back where he belongs.
As for NA 300Z's well they are over rated on hp and have a real disatvantage on torque when racing a mustang. You should put one in the rear view easily.

Thats what I was thinking, I've got him killed on tq. I guess thats why I jumped on him out of the hole and was ahead but he was slowly pulling.

Hahah my first race was against an Integra too! I already had a few mods and was running low 14s(LOL @ 14's!!) and my freind had a ls non vtec with full exhaust, intake, bumped timing and a 75 shot of sex. It was decently close but I put 1-2 cars on him.

Yep, your torque is what will always get 'em. That's what's so great about our V8's. You don't have to rev it up to 6500 to get power. Those smaller engines are HARDER to launch and you have to get it exactly right and wrench the drivetrain everytime to be ahead in a race. You have to make a real production out of it. With V8's you don't have to look like a maniac to get the launch. It's great and easier on the drivetrain.

Wow it must be a mustang thing. My first race was against an integra also! lol. I was pure stock, he had cold air, exhaust and header. It was so bad, I honestly thought he wasn't trying. I also had my fat friend in the car.

One the street, mine was an Eclipse. We were dead even through 2nd and some of 3rd then shut down.

One the track, my first was a fox body mustang. It was a piece. It got a better e.t. and trap than me but I got the holeshot and crossed first.

Might have to get a Dart block but don't want to and if I do, then 363 instead of 331. Thoughts on what I've already bought so far.......
