you have a pi intake with the aluminum crossover so you're good to go. and unless you're going to be changing out your heads soon and what not the stock pi intake should suit you just fine.

I got my class action suit notification in the mail this week - "Chamberlan vs Ford Administrator'.

If you submit recipts, etc, you will get re-imbursed.

Web site :

http://www.FordManifoldSettlement.com or 1-888-826-3047

The notification says they have extended the warranty period to 7 years from purchase date for all "nylon" intakes. That's good even though I believe I have the PI intake which is NOT prone to cracking...

just to throw some info out there, the settlements will not be final till early october. and also pi intakes before a certain date where prone to cracking as well. it was not a case of pi or npi, but whether the aluminum crossover was plastic or aluminum.

How can an aluminum crossover be anything but aluminum ? I think I know what you really wanted to say.

So, did Ford revise the design of the V8 intake starting in '99 or not ?

This is exactly right. Both PI and nonPI manifolds were made at first with plastic, but when they started cracking, they redesigned the crossover in alluminum. PI is just a matter of power, not cracking.

California has one of the largest class action law suits against Ford for rembursment of repair costs. I just got a letter from "Rosenthal & Company LLC" located in California informing me that I am automatically part of their class action law suit because I am (or was) an owner of a vehicle in question. Sounds like I'll be getting ~$700.00. The suit is supposed to be settled in October.
