Its funny, I just join the National Guard and everyone thinks I'm shipping out for Iraq in like a month. Reality is I'm the one weekend a month and two weeks in the summer soldier. I'll go to a short Infantry school in the summer most likely and then I can volunteer to be deployed. But, that is no guarantee I will be deployed. My best chance is in 2006 when a local unit is going to Afghanistan. With Jerry going back to L.A., he'll probably get shot at before I will.
Next month I do get to go shoot guns up at Ft Lewis, and I get paid for it..
