There is nothing wrong with a V6. I have had several and loved all of them. I have also had GTs and currently have one. I also love it.
MPG and insurance between the two is insignificant, in my opinion.
They are all Mustangs. The V6, by the way, is what kept Ford building Mustangs when other manufacturers got rid of their V8 Camaros, Firebirds, etc.

Definitely a good choice, V6 or V8 doesn't matter at all, only that you enjoy it to the fullest.
I also prefer the smaller fog lights on the V6, but figured I could always change if I wanted to. I really prefer the V8, and don't commute so gas prices don't matter to me. To each their own.
I grew up near Napa (Green Valley / Fairfield) and my dad ran the Anheuser-Busch/Budweiser brewery there for a decade and a half. So San Francisco is like my backyard. Went to UC Davis.
In fact, I'll be up there (SF) with my wife and baby daughter January 18-20...

Oh, and I plan to rid my car of the GT badges as well.
Without a wing, only the true enthusiast will notice the dual tailpipes.

Must be the German in me, they always remove all badges on their cars. Better to be subtle and quick than brash and busted...

There is a niche of Mustangers like us that really do like the V6 better.

The GT is more of a guzzler that I just didn't want to deal with. Before my stang I drove a '93 Jeep Cherokee modified for off-roading and the beast got 13-15 MPG. When I decided to buy a Mustang, I decided to boost my fuel economy as much as possible because I was sick of watching my gas needle sink.

Plus, V8s don't matter to me. I am not intrested in racing anyone or burning out my tires.

My Shelby is not a "gas-guzzler." Going to school (40 miles, hilly) I get 21-22 MPG at 80 mph; going to Orange County (all flat), I get 24-25 MPG, based on hand calculation.. It usually takes about 250+ miles to watch my gas gauge even get close to the empty side..

Awesome car, even more awesome color! I am so jealous of your house in Utah... Although if you said you were a skier, I'd be a bit more jealous

Yeah, I'm 22 and I ski. I'm one of only a couple of my friends who use two boards rather than one. Snowboarding just never did it for me.

226, what are you having done to it??? That'll be a nice little Christmas "surprise" for you!

Just to rile y'all, today was 72 and sunny in Newport Beach. Drove my new vert around smiling and listening to Sirius. Oh God what a wonderful Christmas...
