I got my 88GT about 3 yrs ago and have been working on it since then. You will probally notice that I jump around alot so bare with me.

When I first got it and after days of buffing and polishing.

When I got it it didnt run do to a broken oil pump shaft so I pulled the motor and started from scratch. I ended up going with a 306,stock heads(for now),Performer II intake,70mm Tb,Mass air conversion

A few weeks later I decided I couldnt take all the wires everywhere.

My Next plan of attack was to move on to the suspension and brakes. I did drilled and slotted rotors all around,73mm calipers in the front,93 cobra disk conversion in the rear,BMR lowers,Steeda uppers,Sperical bushings,Moddifed rear GT springs,4.10 gears, and stainless hardware thru out. I even stripped and repainted the floor pans and frame arms.

I also decided that the tires and wheels needed to be upgraded.

Next was time to move to the interior and start cleaning, painting, and replacing.

Had to fix the holes where some idiot mounted a tach!

I went ahead and did my needles on my guages to match my Autometer guages.

Relocated the battery to the trunk

Everything installed back and you can see how bad the carpet really is now with all the trim cleaned and painted. so I guess that was next on the list.

This is what we looked like before Phase 2.

Now where up to the current status of the car. The paint was really chipping and flaken bad everywhere so I decided to sand it down and do a color change. Well after 20 min of sanding I relized that the car had has several repaints already and decided to strip it to bare metal and start over. I have taken it down to all most the shell now and have decided to make some changes. The plan is to do 93 fenders and Cobra extensions,Cobra rear bumper, Get rid of the "Mustang GT" on the side skirts, Steel cowl hood, smooth engine bay, and shaved antenna, pass. door lock and misc holes.

Went ahead and etch primed the hole car before i started on the body work.

After this I started on the body work and the primer and block sanding. I went from 180 x2,320, and my final will be 600 wet. I did everything from the exterior to the jambs.

Now were at the current conditon of the car and will post as I go. Fell free to post your positive/negative comments at any time. It helps with the motivation sometimes.LOL

No negative comments from me. Great work so far. I know what it's like starting all over. I bought my car from the salvage yard and it was worse than I can put into words. One piece at a time, and it's finally in a great way. Keep it up,keep the pics coming and again, great work so far.

Im doing all the body, prep and cutting in everything. A buddy of mine manages a big shop and were going to take it there one Fri. night and spray it in there super nice down draft bake booth. I just gotta give the owner a little money for using his electricty, which is a good deal for me.

Be careful with custom colors, you'll have a VERY hard time matching it when the times comes. Stick with an OE color if you plan on keeping the car

if you have the paint code for oe or custom color why would one be harder than the other?
