Some of you might remember that I was hit pretty bad last year in my old 65 coupe. Everything is settled with the insurance company and I'm ready to tackle my new toy. Check out the pics.

It's a 65 six banger. Here's all the stuff I got with it.

- Fiberglass front fenders
- shelby side scoops
- some interior (don't care for it)
- 9" rear end
- 8.8" 1992 posi rear end from a fox
- all glass
- edelbrock vic aluminum water pump
- tons of trim and parts in boxes
- one original steel fender (dented)
- heidts mustang II front end (installed)
- tubular contol arms
- disc brakes
- flaming river manual r&p
- new sheetmetal for trunk

There's more but my fingers are tired. I'm so pumped, I can't wait to get cracking on it. Already picked up ppg self etching primer, epoxy primer and filler. Also a sandblaster, 4 compressors, spray gun, plasma cutter, welder, everything I need to restore it.

My plan is to paint it black and transfer the red interior from my old coupe into it. New carpet is a given, and the seats will work for now. The white coupe will be giving up it's hood, trunk lid, fenders and valance to the new stang.

Only thing I haven't decided on is what engine to go with. I have a complete 1991 5.0 efi to throw in, but I'm kinda leaning towards a healthy, carbed 351 with side exhaust. I know a modular will fit, but I'll make more power with the same money on a 351. I'll be updating this thread as I make progress on it. Hopefully doesn't take as long as I think it will.

Anyone have a 351 C they don't want anymore? :D

Awesome man congrats on the new buy. I think it looks like a great start and with some work will be an amazing car. I agree with you to go ahead and buy a 351 Windsor. They are cheap and parts are easy to come by. Plus you can get a lot more kick out of that 351 than a 4.6. I respect those who do the 4.6 swap it just isn't really practical IMO. You will be plenty satisfied especially with the M2 suspension but that way you will never have clearance issues. Again congrats man. :nice:

Thanks bud. It's a funny thing, cause all I wanted to do before was drop a 4.6 dohc in my old coupe but I couldn't. But now that I can, I don't want to. I just remember hearing a factory five cobra roll by one day, and it had the meanest rumble to it. Carbed with side pipes and a real snappy rev to it. I want that in my mustang.

I love the modular too, but I'm on a carburetor kick right now. It's just too simple to not do. Only now I don't know what to do with the 5.0 I have sitting around.

I do like the idea of an injected 5.0 with a turbo though. Now I have all kinds of room the plumb, hmmmmm.

Anyone care to guess how much this coupe and all that you see in the pics cost? The car came with the heidts kit installed btw.

I don't know about the price but I am curious to know. I hate being in rust city utah it would be nice to come across something like that. It would make a perfect candidate for my next project for college. The engine is your choice it depends on what kind of power you are looking to get. I would do 351 because more power you could stroke and such, plus it will take advantage of all that extra room you got in there.

Congrats! I hated to see that you're coupe got so bashed. Glad to hear that you're back in the game. :)

That sounds like the most fun right there. In the mean time, I'd consider throwing a carb on the 5.0 and rolling with that until you could get the turbo stuff together, but you may want to nail everything down at once instead of following Blakes one-piece-at-a-time,-drive-it-the-whole-time philosopy. :p

$3,247?

Yea 69R, I hear ya on the 351. Tough as nails and it can handle all the power I could want but I already have this complete 5.0 efi setup. I also have the original 289/t5 from the white coupe, but that's going backwards.

Hey Blake, good to see ya. How's your fb coming along? Did you go carb or is it efi all the way? I'd love to see some pics.

I know exactly what you mean about the drive and fix, one at a time thing. I think just for now, I'll concentrate on the bodywork. As of this post it's looking like it'll be an efi 5.0 for now. Later it'll be an injected 351, and after that will come boost(I've said this before, watch, it'll end up with a n/a 429 or something).

Oh and the heidts coupe, all parts and everything totalled up to $1900. I think I made out ok.

It's coming along nicely. Most recent pics (December) are in my sig. All the Mustang Steve clutch stuff for the T-5 is fabbed, and ready to rock. I'm getting the heads back from the machine shop today (P&P'd E7's with a fresh valve job.) They should outflow GT40's. Building the engine now, which should be quite a runner, at least compared to the last decade or so. :D Staying carbed for now for a couple reasons. 1, since I've got the '05 GT on the way, I'm not going to need to drive it that often. Weekend warrior and pretty day duty only, so the "twist the key and go" factor is less important. 2, it leaves me something to do if I get bored. I've done every other freakin' thing on the car, so I'm looking forward to a nice long plateau of "finished" (yeah I know, never finished). :nice:

Edit: oh yeah, and $1900 is a screamin' deal!

You made out awesome I think. I've got a buddy with a warmed over 351C he's wanting to sell, but it's in central OK. It's apart and I have no idea what he's wanting for it.

Hehe, all the good stuff is so far away.

I see your point on the carb. I planned on laying some serious drive time behind mine. Although, the last time I did that I got hit. Tough decision. I might just follow your lead and make it a nice day cruiser. You're gonna love that 05.

$1900 ! You got a great deal, and an awesome project to finish. That should make a killer ride. I like the idea of a 351C too. If for no other reason than a Cleveland looks sweet.

Thanks man, I'm like a little kid right now. Just itching to drive it.

O yeah dude I forgot you could always stroke that sucker then you get the benefits of both. Displacement and Hydraulic roller camshaft. It could be a fun project. And damn I wish a deal that good would swing my way sometime.

I think if a cleveland doesn't find it's way into my hands in the next couple months, this is gonna be a efi 5.0 But, you know the fox guys swap 351s all the time and they're fuel injected. I think that would be the next plan there.
