Ok, after banging up the front end of my '91, I found a '90 whose body is in perfect shape. I intend on stripping the car down and moving as much from the '91 to the '90 as possible. This includes engine, interior, swap tranny from auto to 5-speed, and getting the entire car painted (current color is red, I'm going back to black, including the engine bay). Where would everyone else start with a project like this? Pull the engine and get the paint done first possibly?

i would totally tear apart and get all the cosmetics done on the 90 while. Then when you have everything the exacty way you want it, begin the heart transplant

Yeah, I kinda figured that. Pull the engine and tranny, get the paint done, then the interior. Install new k-member and take it from there. Gee, sounds so easy, doesn't. Too bad I have to do an auto to 5-speed conversion.

You'll want to pull the interior out of the 90 that way you can get a coat of black on the inside of it as well. Might as well do it right the first time. Then just have to be careful not to screw up the paint when swapping everything over. Good Luck! You should take some before after pics!

I think that I would pull the engine and interior first, then paint the interior & engine compartment. Then swap the rest of the parts, interior, engine, transmission, etc. The exterior paint would be the last step before putting the car on the road. That way you will protect the paint from the mechanical rash that sometimes happens when you do major work on a car.

yeah what i'd do is pull everything off the 90, bumpers, interior, drive train, everything you can, and take the car some place to have the underside of the car compleatly taken care off, no rust at all, get the car undercoated, or get a layer of like spray on truck bed liner under the car, get the inside of the car painted and everthing that will be covered by other stuff, start putting all the newer stuff in and go slow so when your done you'll have a super nice super well done car. but the main things and i can't stress this enuff .

FIGURE OUT EVERYTHING YOU WANT TO DO FIRST, EVERY LAST DETAIL BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING.... and make a list that way you don't figure it out as you go along, decide now if your gonna tint, decide now if your gonna shave locks, or put on lambo doors or anyother crazy crap, and then do it....
