Also, I have a feeling you wont be able to fit spinners on a II. But for the sake of a II, don't do it.

16's and 17s are a tight enough fit on a II, a set of 20s you'd never be able to put tires on em aside from looking completely ridiculous. You should check out my little bros avatar 98CobraClone is his user name but he photoshopped the Bullits from his convertible onto his 78 Cobra looks pretty good too. But you'd have to do a five lug conversion easy enough to do though.

As for the speakers, you have a few options:

1)Factory stereo ones were in the doors (6" round) but requires the correct door panels or...gulp..cutting new holes

2) You can get a 6"x9" with a single bass and twin tweeters and 4-wire (stereo) hookup that will fit in the factory location under the dash

3) Pick up an extra set of kick panels and mount a pair there (one of my cars has this)

4) For the Ghia rear, install a fold down rear seat and go with a removable enclosure. My Ghia had the seat from the factory (it was optional on coupes/Ghias) I'll be using speaker wires run under the carpet to the rear seat area that will be connected to a headphone jack (the bigger one). That way I can pull the speakers, tuck the lead away and again be correct for shows or cruises. Also frees up trunk space when I need it

just out of curiosity- saw your post about parting your coupe in the parts section, and checked your site- since you already have the inner quarter's cut out for speakers- look like 6"ers in the pic from your site, why not keep the interior from that car, dye it to match the new projects interior, and you're already on the way, plus you can save a clean set of panels if you want to put it back to OE later down the road.

My Thoughts:

FIRST THING You have a 26 year old car!
-service/replace brakes
-service/replace suspension parts
-change filters
-replace exhaust
-buy quality tires
-fix anything that is broken

SECOND THING
You likely have the most amount of expendable income you will ever have in your life right now. (it is all down hill from here bro). Spend it wisely! When I was 17 these things were cool:
-Painting your car all one color chrome, trim everthing
-pink and light blue Z graphics
-Cragar Pro Tech wheels
-pull-out cassette decks

Today If you had any one of those things on or in your car you would be laughed at!! A list of things that never go out of style
-shaved door handels (kool in 1950 still kool today)
-general smoothing of the body, shaving antenna, emblems, unimportant trim
-Stock! stock paint colors and stock looking bodywork.
-speed parts
-15 or 16" Wheels: Cragar SS / American Racing Torque Thrust/ Centerline auto/drag or almost any wheel that was popular the year your car was built

Stereo:
What is cool today is down right tacky tommoro. When I was 17 I had a pink/white/light blue PPI amp, pink speakers, Pionner pull-out tape deck. (imagain how cool those babies would be today!!!) Put very high quality speakers in the factory locations, put suface mount tweeter in the "A" pillars (double sided tape them up there drill no holes). Put subs in a removable encloser. Mount the amp (s) to the speaker box. Speakers last 3 years, your new speakers will never fit in the holes you cut for the old ones. Head units have all basically been standardized to "Din" size, so I guess it is ok to cut that hole.

General:
Trendy items are fine if they can be removed. Your neon light kit would be fine, Body modifications I would keep to a minimum. A body kit that looks kool today will be tacky in 4 years and god-awfull in 10. In 1978 3' wide fiberglass fender flares and half dragon/half naked chick murals were cool. Enjoy the ride in 10 minutes you will be married with a morgage payment, brat kids, and little expendable income. Keep your car a all costs! durring the lean times store it. If you sell it it will be hard to justify buying another one. If the love intrest demands you sell it, kick her to the curb (there are more women on this earth then men, find a new one).

Gotta agree with the others.......no neons, no spinners, no light kits. Mustang II's are not rice burners.....they're not 17 year old kid cars. If you don't treat the car with respect, it'll bite you in the butt. I say restore/restomod and leave it at that.

I personally don't think the in dash DVD will work because of the way the dash is shaped. You'd almost be better off to have a separate LCD screen from the control module, or no TV at all, it would look tacky in an older car.

I like the fold-down rear seat idea. If you don't need the pass-through to the trunk, put a sheet of plywood in the opening and mount as many speakers as you want!

The biggest wheel I've heard of in a (mostly) stock MII wheel well is 17"x8". And that required some work.

Two problems with the SN-95 Mustang wheels...they have a different lug pattern than stock MII, and they have way too much offset. At the minimum you'll need to change to 5-lug axles and rotors and use 1"+ spacers.

Even for the Fox Mustang wheels which have the correct lug pattern, you'll need to run longer lugs and 3/8" - 1/2" spacers or (for more safety) run adapters that bolt to the hubs.

Since you have the Ghia, you could go with a set of pimpy wire wheels!

My car just has an inexpensive keyless entry system with 13lbs power door lock solinoids attached to the door latchs. Then just remove and un-hook the door handels, weld in a patch. I have it wired in such a way that it does not operate when the engine is on. (so no one falls out)
