An opinion from another 17 year old:

For the love of god! What were you thinking? I know you decided not to do the spinners but omg...I freaked out by the thought of spinners on a II! Oh yeah, dont waste 2,000 on a stereo system! You should be wasting 2,000 on the engine whether it be rebuilding, replacing or modifying it. My plans for my car are to get another stereo deck because mine is messed up and actually needs to be replaced.

But after that I'm going for a 65 shelby apron, side scoops, mini cobra jet hoodscoop "functional", 15x7 wheels. For the engine I'm getting headers, cam, intake, h pipe, heads, underdrive pulleys.

Oh and I know you want to do the blue lights, but thats really really tacky on an old car! I'm sorry to make such an example of you, but I dont want everyone thinking all of us 17 year olds are going to ruin our MII's.

You could just be like me and upgrade the speakers and hang on to the factory 8 track player. The only good 8 track I have is the Rolling Stones.........beast of burden over and over again

Put some 6 1/2 kenwoods in the door no cutting drillin and more bass than you thought possible --II doors are solid. The din in the dash was the way I went. I have had my II since 87 and radio knobs just were available in the high end market anymore so now I have a MP3 playing head unit with the amp mounted in between the seats of my hatchback FDRS

Good luck on the project
