my proline built shortblock combo...

id like you opinion on my combo:

Short block: Proline built 306, zero decked, forged flat top pistons, fully blue printed/balanced ford racing crank, D10E rods, studded, girdled, all ARP hardware. shortblock was built to compete in factory stock class NMRA.

Heads:, Ported twisted wedge track heats, milled down to 60cc, anderson high rev valve springs, titanium retainers, Pro magnum roller rockers

Cam: Comp cams NX264HR-14, wanted this cam because my car is a street car and i didnt want low RPM cruising issues, also plan on spraying with a 100 shot later

Intake/ fuel deliver: ported Systemax, 70mm throttle body, pro-m bullet meter, 24lb injectors.

any inputs? looking to make 300-325hp. same shortblock with same cam made just over 300whp in my buddy's car with regular twisted wedge heads and performer RPM intake.

Better think about some different injectors.

what is the compression? Should get to where you want it. I would look into a custom ground cam though

10:1 compression...i would go with a custom cam eventually

if the shortblock is built for FS, do you think its gonna last on the street?

yeah a motor identical to this one owned by a friend of mine was driven regularly on the street and regular trips to the track.

thanks for the advice but i ran 24's with a 100 wet shot before with no issues, i had 30 pounders and it was running too fat

maybe we are on the verge of a full tilt race motor . . .

I know not everyone (factory stock) has .032" rings, light rods, etc . . .

Obviously the injector sizing has nothing to do with the nitrous hit on a wet shot.

no it doesnt and the 24 pounders have plenty for a 320whp motor naturally aspirated

The 24's are right.

I think the ported tw's and systemax are too much.
The holley intake is huge to begin with, i'd say you are going to suffer down low a little.

Also the bullet meter will be undersized, try to get a pro m or pmas 80mm.

Suite yourself. I have been down this road before. Thus, the reason why my 24's are being tossed for 30's now. What are you tuning with? 24's with 320 RWHP will result in too high of a duty cycle. Pretty close to maxed out. Again this is coming from someone that has 24's in his junk right now.

That cam isnt as bad is I expected. Its doenst have a lot of duration like most guys would pick with a set of heads like he has. It could use more lift though. He will wont have any problems with the lower RPMs. Now if he had something like the XE-276HR, then I would agree.

well balanced set-up IMO, mines similar, with less head flow and I have 332.41RWHP, according to this HP calculator, which is more accurate than dyno numbers IMO. but you do have to know your cars weight, and trap speed, most tracks have scales though.
