It's a power driver seat and it will go up, down, forward, and that's it. No backward. I pulled the seat and tested all the wires for voltage. They all seem fine. But I'm new to anything electrical. I would think it's gotta be the motor that's bad, but I have no way of knowing. Could the motor work sliding forward but not back? Or must it be a wire problem?

Yeah, it could be the motor. If all else fails, a manual seat track mightwork for ya. At the advice of wise ones here, when I got the '94, that was the route I went. I never got around to trying to fix mine - the worm gear stripped.

Good luck.

Mine did that when I first got it. Turned out that a wire was a little loose where it connected to the switch itself. You may have already checked that? I just jiggled all the wires around at that switch until I noticed it worked. I just pushed it up in there as far as I could. It works fine now, but I need to go back and "fix" it.

My motor is just slowly dieing. I know it has been, i now have to get out of the seat first then move it because it doesnt have the juice to move me in it.
Great isnt it? Mine did the same. I had to be out of the seat too. Then one day I moved it back to work on the car and it would no longer for forward at all. :notnice:

mine works in every direction but back as well. it is definitely the motor though since i can hear it trying to go. with all 180lb. of my weight against the seat back it will slide backwards very slowly and unwillingly. luckily i still have the entire drivers seat from my old one and the motor is perfect. i just really havent found the motivation to change it out. it isnt often that i move the seat since i am 6' tall and am the only one that drives the car. the seat is always back as far as it goes.
