hey everyone, just wanted to put my .2 cents on this issue. I know there is a big thread about this but considering there are not many posts in the svt forum i would share. I have also noticed some notchy and sometimes a grind when cold. my trans has 30k on it. My solution to the problem is to double clutch when its cold for 1-2 shift and avoid the grind and notchiness all together. I'd assume the trans will last longer if i avoid grinding and notchy shifts all together rather than forcing it in. Once it is warmed up or if the temp is warm outside it shifts fine. As for reverse i have not had a single grind even if i don't put the shifter in a forward gear first. My old 5.0's would always grind going into reverse. Overall I still love my cobra even though i need to wait for her to wake up when its cold.
