My tires are crap... old and bald 245-45-17 BFG's.

Well, that was a bit scary, but it hooked after letting off and getting back on it.

Not quite, still a bit of slipping from 65 to 75mph before it hook fully.

What gears you got...... 5500 rpm at 100mph.

It has 3.73 gears, plus about 400 rpm of converter slip. The transmission is a C4, so 3rd is 1:1.
