My Wheels are rubbing my sway bars..any suggestions???

I have an 02 mustang with 18in Bullitt Wheels tire size 255-45-18. I have noticed that if I turn my wheels too sharp, my rims have been rubbing my sway bars. For now Im just trying to not turn the wheel so much. Has anyone ever had this issue? Does anybody have any suggestions or ideas on how I could correct this problem (other than purchasing a new set of wheels)? I was thinking about purchasing 1in spacers from american muscle, but Im not sure how that would look. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Are the rims rubbing? Or the tires? Either the wheels are too wide, the tires are too wide (if tire is rubbing) or those rims have to steep of an offset. I had this problem (tires rubbing sway bar and leaving a polished spot) when I had 07 GT wheels on my 96. The problem was the wheel offset. If those Bullitts were made for 05 and up Mustangs, then you have an offset issue. If it is not an offset issue and the rims are rubbing, then it is most like too wide of a rim. It is probably just a rim width issue. If you decide to use spacers, don't use plate spacers. I used those and it leaves very little stud to attach the lug nuts. Since the rims may be very wide, using spacers may cause a rubbing issue in the fender wells.

yeah its the rims that are rubbing. I bought the car with them and I never thought to look to see if they were rubbing (live and learn I guess) Thanks for the tip on the spacers. I never thought about them possibly making the tires rub the fenders. I think I may look for a set of spacers and see how they look and work on the front tires. Then I can always throw them on just the back wheels if that doesn't work. Thanks
