My Xenon HID conversion is finally finished! *PICS* Didnt cost me a penny ;)

Well its finally finished,

I had a few Jaguar Headlamps lying around that had HID's installed in them,
So I took the Ballast, Ignitior and bulb out and fabbed up these beautys

REALLY bright, Really hard to photo as well so sorry for the crap pics,
Its basically just all camera glare,
In real life they look amazing,

The road is lit up so well with them, and street signs are easier to read, I have bad night vision anyway so these are a help as much as a big dog thing

Also added a few with the HID's off for all you Fox lovers out there

Well that is really the details,
I had some Jaguar lights,
Took the bits I needed out of them,
Wired it into my Stang,

Easy really, Cant belive I didnt think of it sooner lol, Ive had these Jag lights for almost 6 months

So do did you just splice right into the stock headlight harness? Another thing....why did you have Jaguar lights just lying around? What it you original plan to put them in the stang?

it dosent matter what headlights they are,

Jag, BMW, Ford lol
A HID system is exactly the same no matter what, Different looking parts possibly from all the different car makers, But all have the same basic components,

It was an easy conversion, Just had to have a brain surge to realise I could actually do it

you can buy the kits,
And no Xenon bulbs do not work with your stock light setup,
you need to wire in a ballast, which amplifys the volts from 12v to 1100v

And Chrin no I just did stand alone bulb, Im thinking of the projector headlights for Stangs but have yet to see them actually fitted to a fox,
Anyone on the board got them?

HID kits are getting cheaper these days.

You can get the correct 9004 HID kit for $300 or less if you search around.

They last a while. I have a few buddy's with HID's in their cars and they have yet to buy a new bulb for it. It's been 2-3 years so far.

Bulbs are expensive though, $75-150 depending on brand.

Not a cheap mod, that's why i think i'm gonna just get some 13" disk brakes for the GT instead

Maybe i'll ask for HID's for xmas??

Those look great Jamie. I assume the light on the ground in front of the car is from the headlights? If so, it is quite a bit better than the cloudy, murky, "gee, are my lights even on" look in front on my car!

Yeah thomas the light on the road is from the lights, Everythings so white,
But I would like to get some kind of projectors for this conversion

looks good... i did the same thing 6 months ago.. it was deffinately worth it... street signs from a quarter mile away light up like a flourescent light is on it... looks real nice and isnt blinding as people would think, but then again, im using a different housing then you.. good job, looks real good, however i am eventually gonna ditch my set and go with the purple tinted ones.. I seen them on a few newere cars and LOVE the look, but thats just me...

Stick to 4100K and you will be a winner.

This is the sharp cut off line seen when you retrofit a 4100K properly. If you have ever driven a can with HID lighting the line is sharp as a razor.

From my personal experience riding in a TSX, the line was very sharp, and there was no bleeding or glare.

The digital camera does not lie.
