Mysterious Blue Box

Gents,
I'm having trouble adjusting my new stereo. The volume control knob is now behind my shifter. I was thinking about swapping places w/my A/C controls. Upon doing the exploritory surgery, I noticed a large Blue Box behind my A/C controls. It's in the way of the stereo's new home. What is it, and can it be moved? Has anybody done this before?
'Gonna be outta town starting tomorrow (Wed) so I won't be able to reply. Thanks in advance for all the help/advice.

Pretty sure its for the air bag. So no I wouldn't really mess with it unless you don't have an airbag anymore.

Yep that is the Air Bag Diagnostic Monitor.
