I recently purchased an 05 GT (loving it btw) and I've come across what looks to be an aftermarket bluetooth device in the center console. The problem is, I've tinkered with it a little bit, and have no idea how it works. If I have blue tooth I would like to use it.

Has anyone installed blue tooth in their Mustang, or know what I'm talking about?

I'll post a picture when I get home tonight.

If you are lucky it maybe the Ford Accesory called Mobile Ease .
Essentially a certified bluetooth package from Ford, there should be a microphone somwhere and some buttons.
If its mobile ease install and operating instructions are somewhere on the ford site.

I have "Mobile Ease" bluetooth installed in my 2009, but it was factory installed by Ford, not by me. This is what the control button looks like...

Thanks! I'll definitely have to check that out today.

As promised, here is a picture of what I assume are the blue tooth controls. Let me know if this looks familiar to anyone.

Odd Sidenote: the bulb in the middle flashes blue (passive alarm system), when the car is locked, or - here's the weird part - when the vents/ac/defroster is not on.

Yep, looks like a Bluetooth alarm combo or some such. Have you traced the wiring back to it's origin? If it's wires to nowhereville then the prior owner, or maybe the dealer where you got it, removed the guts and left the "Head" unit in place for cosmetic reasons.

Speaking of cosmetics, get some q-tips and get to work. ;-)

(just kidding!)

Haha. Yeah, I didn't give put on the Sunday's best in this picture.

I actually did just check out where those wires head to. They connect to some device that looks like an old cable box. It's called "Guidepoint Systems." This device then connects to what looks like a wireless transmitter called "SkyView".

I tried to attach some pictures below, but has anyone seen/heard about this unit?

Well, turns out Guidepoint is more or less like OnStar. It's an anti-theft/GPS device.

It's too bad, I was hoping it was just a bluetooth that would work through my sound system. Ah well.
