Digging through my junk ..i mean parts today , i found this radio .It is a AM FM 8 track .I think i know what it came out of ,does any one recognize it .It is intact ,no cut wires ,well missing the right side knob but i think i could find those .Not sure if it works but it probably does ,i don't think i would have kept it if it didn't. It has a Ford tag ,but not a Ford part number .

well since Ford doesn't make radios, I'd say it was made for Ford by whatever oem radio manufacturer they used back then. Why does it matter?

Am Fm radios are fairly rare for Mustangs and Am Fm 8 tracks are even more rare .Turns out this one is for a 71 -73 .Thought it may fit my 69 but it is about 1/4 to tall ,the 8 track part and the push buttons would fit perfectly but the upper two buttons are to tall to fit into the 69 bezel .

Bad company, Aerosmith, Eagles, and Pink Floyd. I had a Craig 8-track player that mounted on the floor in my 64 1/2 coupe. It was the size of a small portable TV and my alternator was so weak that my lights would dim each time the thing would change tracks.

Mine mounted under the dash of my 66 coupe ,and i think came from Montgomery Wards .I cant remember it ever eating a tape ,but the cassette player i bought later was a hungry sucker .
