What is this thing? This is on a 93 convertible 2.3 on the passenger side strut tower. What does it control? I am doing a 5.0 swap on this, can this go bye bye?

I think your first answer was closer . A mass air meter it is not, that much I know for sure.

Thats what I was leaning to because I have only seen them on the 2.3's with the DIS.

Notice the "EEC Power"... that is important unless you rewire it... have fun with that.

Umm I wonder if that part maybe the same as on a 5.0L anyways

Now you got me second guessing myself. I was going to take out the EEC altogether. I was under the impression that it only controld engine functions, am I off base here?

I had to open my ECRM up a week and a half ago. There are three relays inside, the largest(the cubical one) is the fuel pump relay. The other two smaller rectangular ones still remain a mystery. If you are switching over to a carbed 5.0 you should'nt need this box.

That box is almost all of the relays in your car. Ford had the idea, in stead of indavidual relays, put them all in one box. You "COULD" get rid of it, but you;d them have to wier in single relays in its place...Which I my self would orobably do, damn things are about $70 from ford...

so it controlds the fuel pump, I plan to wire up a new circuit with the relay near the battery in the trunk, no problem there. I think I heard that it also controls the engine fan, gone, no problem there. What else do you suppose it controls?
