I am going to replace my clutch. The stocker has about 80k on it, but it is not the clutch that is bad. My freakin TB has been making noise for 40k miles, and now the noise is turing from a squeak to a squeaky grind. So while I was searching, I found this.

Zoom D2 Twin-Disk Clutch

It is a Zoom clutch. Now before you say instantly that "they suck", I found an interesting fact. They are made by precision clutch, one of the most recognized names in clutches. Now that that is out of the way, here are my questions. First off, this is an 8.75 inch clutch with the flywheel. This will greatly reduce the rotational inerta, but also reduce the parasidic loss in the drivetrain (smaller = more hp to the road). I dont see this as being a lot, but what do you think about it? The clutch I linked is the stage 3 and is reported to hold 800 ft/lbs of torque.

Please feel free to discuss this.

That one is too pricey for me. I just got a spec stage 2 and had the stock flywheel resurfaced when I replaced mine. Works great.

I was looking at just going with a spec clutch, but at the same time, I also want to move to an aluminum flywheel. Buying both is a little over $700, so it really isnt that much cheaper.

well unless you have a promotion built tranny with a 26 spline input shaft that clutch setup wont work, stock is 10 spline.
as far the flywheel, its not included in the clutch setup so your still gonna be shelling out another 3-4 c-notes for a flywheel if you go alum.

Sorry about that, I did link the 26 spline, I fixed it with the 10 spline. As for the flywheel, in the description, it says included.

there description is contradicting, towards the top it says no to the flywheel included but i see down there in the description it says its included.

that being said that is a pretty good price and i might get 1 if my current DFX clutch cant hold up once i pill the car back on a 250 shot.

Seems like a lot of clutch for a basically stock motor. If it were me, and I had no intention for a PA in the future, I'd stick with the stocker.
