Need a clutch for 500+ rwhp

any suggestions? centerforce only rated to 350 ft/lbs torgue is a street car so it wont be planting or launching etc

twin disc organic probably the way you need to go. I have been reserching them, because I am in need of one my self. I tried to run a single on my 500hp/560ft# and it was either nasty engaugement or short lived. So I am leaning toward the new Mcleod. There is a 26 spline rebuilt Mcleod in the classifieds.

A spec stage 3 (could be wrong on the stage) would probably work fine for a street car. Im assuming you want a sprung clutch. Just depends whether you want a disc or a 4/6 puck

I'm switching from a Fidanza 4.3 ceramic puck clutch which is very difficult to drive on the street, it's grabs and goes with no slipping and it's very tough on the left leg) to a Fidanza 6.5 twin clutch.

Both we handle over 500 HP put the twin clutch is mush more streetable.

When I had my T5 and 3550, I had excellent results with my Clutch Dynamics unit. It held the power great and was very manageable on the street. You can see a little bit of the street manners at the beginning of the vid here... Twin Turbo Mustang Crisin' - Car Videos on StreetFire

They (Cutch Dynamics) are very old school and still don't have a website. They have a very good rapport with many in the turbo community. Anyways, if you are interested....do a google search. They are located in Lansing, MI.

All you need is the Ford Racing clutch kit. My tuner installs these on all the 03-04 Cobra's running 500-525RWHP. I actually have the stock clutch in my 03-04 Cobra which is the same part # as the Ford Racing, just 11" vs. 10.5" and I make almost 600RWHP. It holds up find. The Whipple has been on for 4,500 miles so far. I've made about 8 passes (not launching) (no powershifting) and a lot of street stuff and it is still good.

I had the spec stage 3 for a whle put 600+ through it, nothing wrong with it. But for my street use the pedal was just way to stiff and my leg would die if i was caught in traffic.

I ended up going with a Mcleod dual disc clutch, one of the best things i have ever purchased for the car, the pedal efford is minimal to no existant and it grabs like a mO Fo. I would not even look at any other clutch in the future, this dual disc setup is def. the way to go

I am currently using a Ram HD Powergrip its rated for 600 or 650 i cant remember, has some chatter on take off, but bites insane!!!

I've got a spec stage 3 and not really sure why people think they are hard to press in compared to my brothers king cobra clutch, my spec is easier. I did replace my cable, cable quadrant, add a billet adjuster and new clutch fork when I did mine though.

Ding ding ding. You win. This is the clutch you want to run. No centerforce, spec or ford garbage. Twin disc is not needed

Had the Spec 3+, stock pedal feel, great clutch. Not sure why people say they are hard ?
