well i would suggest the KB but how much HP are you looking for, how much are you willing to spend
well lets say i was 3 days late from buying an 03 cobra. i know if i go with k/b basic kit with 5psi boost i wont have to go though motor..but! if i go though it i will change rods and pistons with lower compression..for more boost.that means steeping up to an intercooled kit ..car has 57,000 miles on it runs good 289 rwhp. i think the basic kit with air kit has 426 rwhp thats prob go bye me ,,but k/b say that most people who by the basic 426 kit ..ussally goes with more boost later cause there hooked on boost ....basic kit is 4600 bucks intercooled kit is 6800 bucks not much more ..but got to do short block...i allways get something then change my mine later ......:nonono: lets say i got 10g to spend ..i got 99 cobra and a 03 mach1 ,i could sell both in get 03/04 cobra like i planned..???the machs already sold but have gotting no cash yet .my 99 i could sell for $13,000 the mach1 i rebuilt from hurricane katrina sold for $13,000 only 13,600 miles looks brand new has flood title

well either way you with the S/C being KB or centri you are going to have get into the motor and forge the bottom end, becuase the C/R on these motors is high and they dont have strong internal's. But you can get a Centri for a cheaper price than the KB and have enough to tap into the motor.

k/b will give me instance boost ..where other got to spool up.k/b looks easyer to install basic kit is 5 psi = to that of 03 04 cobra:shrug:

yeah that true actually i spoke with a guy at the fabolous fords forever car show this weekend who had a 01' cobra S/C'd with a KB but he built the motor with forged bottom end and dropped the C/R and he is running 10# of boost

The Kenne Bell kit is a nice set up, but be prepared to pay through the nose. The standard 5psi kit will run you $4,500….and should you want to make more jam than that, the be prepared to spend $6,800. for the 9psi intercooled kit. And even then, you're only getting a 1.7L compressor for that, which is limited to about 450rwhp on pump gas.

For my money, a Centrifugal kit like a Procharger, Vortech, or Paxton unit would provide better bang for the buck with this particular model, with the availability to make more power in the future, for less money and remain smog legal (for the California buyers) at the same time.

say bannger ,,the pro chargwe kit is lass $$$ but does it come with every thing you need likr injecter fuel pumps and chip tuner ,?? some kit dont have every thing you need that cost extra..was just wondering ,,i got my eye on a flood 03 cobra that dont look thast bad ..or should i spend my money on my 99 cobra and build it to smoke them 03.and 04 and they =be shiiting right whan i blow them away...i still gto the t45 btw.3.73 long tubes 62 twin tb.no cats what you think spend money on the 99 or get the flood 03 cobra its a blk with black top too.......i sold the mach1 flood car came out good r=drive it 280 on interstste with no problems..im thinkning of getting my own mustang repair shop....

wow i think i will go kill myself. nitrous 408...your posts are torturous to read...from what i gather, you want a supercharger kit that will include everything you need to be up and running safely. I would contact modular powerhouse, and see what kind of kit they may be able to set up for you. I have a paxton and get 25mpg on the highway. I make 350 rwhp on 6psi, and it is a very fun car to drive.

hey sorry bout the typing im just in a hurry just make the best of it every one else does ....i want a 550 rwhp combo

I assume by "flood car", you mean it's got water dammage? In which case I'd probably pass. It always seems to be a never ending circle of one problem after another with those cars. The host of electronic Gremlins associated with most flood car's I've seen would make me want to ride a bicycle again.

And if 550rwhp is you goal, then be prepared to spend some money. You're not going to reliably see it out of a Kenne Bell 1.7L and the 2.2L is going to set you back after all is said and done $10,000 easy. You'll be able to do it for about 2/3 of that with a Vortech T-Trim, Procharger D1SC, or Novi 2000 but don't forget that your stock bottom end will no where near take that kind of abuse....so setting asside another $2,500-$3,500 to beef up your current short block to handle that kind of power should be in the cards as well.
