I am the proud papa of a 83 vert that needs a little TLC. One of the issues is that I can not find the button for the top to go up and down. I thought it was suppose to be to the right of the steering wheel under the dash. The kid who had the car before me never used it and doesn't know where it should be. He just put the top down manually. I am planning to put a new convertible motor and lines in the car. Any assistance would be appreciated

Well you are right in where the switch should be. If he can put it up and down manually then all the hydraulics have been disconnected already so be ready for alot of work and or money to make it work again. Is there a hole in the plastic pannel where the switch should be, somewhere around the amplifier on/off switch?

The pump is in the trunk, in a bag. The lines need to be replaced, they are all dry rotted and cracking. I know it is going to take a little work to get it up and running, but I am willing to put in the time. There is no kickplate under the dash or an amplifier. Anybody know where I can find another switch to put in there?

just looking for a little help here. I have looked all over the internet and can not find a place that sells the switch for the top. I don't think that this is an unobtainable part, but I have just about exhausted my resources. I know that there are guys out there that have forgotten more about mustangs than I can remember and I am reaching out to you for your assistance.
