Need a little HELP!

So, I am trying to install my new MSD distributor "PN8456'' into my new motor 331but, for some reason it wont sit all the way down on to the oil pump driveshaft. Right now it's about 2/16ths of a inch from sitting all the way on the block. if you guys have run into this before or maybe have any insight please let me know.

sounds like the shaft is too long..........

They make shims that go on the distributor, Moroso comes to mind.............

Happen to me too. HD pump shaft was too long.

Just out of curiosity, what did you guys do to solve this problem?

Theres a little metal stop thats just pressed on and I tapped it down about a 1/8 and it worked just fine.

i have had to replace 3 pumps and shafts i did run in to this problem once but i thought the shaft was upside down. when i installed the pump that washer thing slided so i turned it the right way and finished the job. i should take some pics of the shafts ive broken they look amazine
