need a motor

My number four cyclinder seems to be shot. The plug is covered with oil.
The Car only has 63000 miles on it.

I want to build a new motor. I already have a stock block that has just been bored .30 over.

I dont have alot of money but thought mabe eagle crank and rods to make a 331 but I want to save money on the heads I have a set of 69 351 windors, the stock e7's and, a older set of 302 heads that are ported.
I want to use the summit federal modul rebuild kit for .30 over and 10.13 compresion with a 58cc head. I still have the stock intake throttle body and mas air. where should I invest my money to build a strong combo that I could mabe spray a little juice.

It depends where you want to spend the money. Power is in the cylinder heads. If you are strapped for cash, why don't you buy a 302 rebuild kit. A rebuild kit for a .030 over 302 will be very cheap. The only new stuff you will have to buy are pistons, rings, and bearings. With a 331, you would need to buy a new crank, rods, pistons, rings, bearings, heads, and the list keeps going. The money that you were going to put into the 331 stroker kit, I would invest in a good intake manifold with a different mass air and throttle body.

Alright,

If I build the 306 up I am going to use the summit rebuild kit with 10.13 pistons, have the crank and rods gone over, and build up the top end.

I want to port the stock e7s and stuff them with good springs,valves, and a nice set of rockers. Also what cam should I use. Now if I do this what should I mill the heads to and what should I put in them????

10.13 is realy high compression do you ever plan on runing boost or pump gas? i would stick to 9:1 compression especialy with iron heads.

I've seen 13:1 cars run on 93 octane. Don't worry about the compression. You can run boost through the motor, just make sure that the tune is ultra safe. The more compression you have, the more likely you are to put a hole in a piston.
