Need a New tranny

So i switched out my clutch a few months ago. it was whining everytime i pushed in the clutch. My brother and my dad said it was because my brother didnt put enough grease onto the throwout bearing. two weeks ago the whine turned into a screetching noise. i pulled the trans pulled the throwout bearing and it was locked up with the top(mushroom-looking half) of it at an angle . the spindles on the pressure plate were grounded down and bent. now the transmission is jacked.

my questions are:

Should i go to a junkyard and buy a junk trans?

Should have this one rebuilt?

hows about trying a new pressure plate, clutch and TB bearing? how will those jack your tranny?

Rebuild. i got a t5 rebuild kit i never used. ill sell it to u cheap. PM for info

As long as the case is solid (ie. no cracks, chunks missing, etc.), a rebuild would be your best bet.

Get a kit - possibly look into upgrading it to a World Class or something a bit stouter than the stock T-5.

a stock t5 is world class. its been that way since like 85. if you want something stronger move up to a T5Z or a tremec.....

What exactly do you mean by "the tranny is jacked"?

Sounds to me like the throwout bearing seized and wiped the clutch. You should be good with a new clutch, preesure plate, throwout and pilot bearings

If the TOB failed why is the trans "jacked"??

If it messed up the bearing retainer get a steel one.

david: get a tremec 3550 you cant break it and getting another t5 will result in blowing that one t00..
