Need a pinion bearing, what are my options

My rear end is screaming at me. My shop says they will have to tear it down and its probaly a pinion bearing. Now I can get a frpp differential for like $180 plus labor. Now with the new differential I won't have to worry about any of that stuff right. Or just keep the differential I have and just get it torn down and fix whatever needs replaced.

it depends on what you will use the car for. If you are going to run sticky tires I would go with a 31 spline diff and axles and have the clutches rebuilt for the limited slip if it is not a new unit.
