i work for the referee in santa barbara, what was the reason they said to go to a referee?
I JUST GOT THE PRINT OUT AND IT SAID I HAD TO GO THE CAR IS A 85 GT STANG THEY ENTERED THE VIN# IN THE COMPUTER AND THATS WHAT IT SAID.

ok, first off, theres a capslock on your keyboard, consider using it. well did you Gross Pollute? did you change out the motor? did you modify anything? you are giving incomplete information. where in CA are you, IE what county do you live in? you might need to get an enhanced test and the shop you went to doesnt have a dyno.

the car is modified there is no smog on it what so ever. i didn't gross polute. the shop i went to had a dyno. i live in san jose ca santa clara county.what do i do next.

the motor is a summit block with 92 5.0 internals. it has a o/r h-pipe , f-cam rpm intake, rpm heads,600 double pumper carb, 1 5/8 headers, 4:10 gears, msd 6a box, msd blaster 2 coil, nos,no smog pump, no egr stuff at all,i till have the stock air cleaner . oh maybe this might help out i hope. this is a pic of under the hood

i am gonna assume that the car originally had a carb. the only way you will come close to passing visual is if you put on the air pump, egr, and the stock h pipe. that being said, you will probably fail tailpipe because of the cam. to help your cause out for tailpipe i would strongly suggest doing a tune-up, new wires, stuff like that, im more of a 4.6 guy so i know those better. you cant hide stuff from a ref, and they also dont take bribes. you are pretty much screwed. no offense, thats what you get for screwing with the smog stuff. a good friend of mine is making 581rwhp and 550rwtq on his 04 cobra and its all smog legal. actually a lot of the smog components dont take away horsepower like the old time dino mechanics think.

bdcardinal, I'm curious on what can be done and what can't. I'll be rebuilding my 95 GT's 5.0 soon, and I'm attempting to use only parts with Cali EO's. Would a new intake trigger an inspection? It shouldn't, but I thought I'd ask. Would it be safe to presume that a set of '95 Cobra GT-40 irons would be legal?

I don't want to run into nx notch's issues when I have the car smogged after my rebuild.

another question. I see a lot of people here that have upgraded their injectors when they added a supercharger. If I remember right, you can't change your injectors on a Cali-smogged car?

Thanks much for your input.

the heads should be legit, they were an option on the 95 cobra right? you can change the injectors on a CA smogged car as long as it was a part of the supercharger kit, or if they have a CARB EO. my buddy as stated before has a 04 mystichrome cobra with a KB 2.2L blower, its all legal including the Siemens 60# injectors.

The GT-40 irons were stock on the 93-95 Cobras, same heads for those years. As for the fuel injectors, how could they get a CARB EO, unless they're stock? I'd love to use 24lb injectors (stock on 94-95 Cobra's), but I don't think that'll fly since my GT came stock with 19lb.

well if you happened to have 24lb injectors that were the same colour as 19lb injectors, i dont see a smog tech looking to see the difference. a lot of times smog techs dont know the differences between certain aftermarket parts. just dont make them blatant. its the obvious blatant modifications like taking off you smog pump or taking off EGR that are very noticable.

Hey I had a similair problem..My car passed the sniffer with no problems but he stated on my printout that my hoses were tampered with..Is there a diagram I can use to put the hoses in stock location to pass then rearrange them for my blower set up...etc...crankcase hose, pvc...
