Hi All. I'm new to this forum and hope someone will be able to assist me. My '84 Fox 5.0 with a carb and manual transmission is in need of a new or functional AC cutoff swtich. The AC, choke and alternator recently stopped working and I found the switch and wiring, located on the intake on the driver's side of the engine near the carb (original factory Holley) pretty much destroyed by heat over the years. A workaround using a jumper cable has gotten the charging system up and running but I still don't have an electric choke or AC. I know the part is obsolete so am looking for anyone who has or knows who might have this switch, used on 83 and 84 models. Part no. I belive is E4PZ-9S520A. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Thanks for the email. I have my switch beside me, and it has a black bakelight box an inch square riveted to the bracket where the two holes are located in your photo. It has a switch with a button and a thin piece of rectangular hinged metal to activate the switch. There are two wires with connectors running from this box, otherwise it appears identical.
I guess there was more that one switch made for this model?? Is there a difference for cars with Holley carb (mine) and throttle body FI? Perhaps I have the wrong Part # for my specific application.

That additional small switch is for the A/C wot cutoff. I'm guessing the throttle kicker (shown above) is probably the same, and that a particular car would only get the cutoff switch if it was optioned with A/C. Just a guess though....

I’m pretty sure I have the additional part as well. I will take a pic and post it later tonight. And this part is for the 84’-85’ 4V carbs, not EFI.

No 84/85 was EFI. EFI didn't start until 86. There were some CFI cars though. Canada, I think.

CharlieGP, I beleive this is the part you are taking about. It was in the box with the solepot, I just didn't take a pic of it the first time. ..

Again, this part is for the 302 with the 4V carb car. This would not work with the 84/85 CFI engines. Though externally the engines appear similar, they are not. The CFI engines came in the 302 with automatic transmissions in 84 and 85. The CFI engines still had air cleaners, but instead of the decal on the top of the air cleaner that said "5.0 Liter 4V H.O.", it said "5.0 Liter E.F.I. H.O.". The CFI engines still used a dashpot and solenoid assembly like this, but they were different part numbers.
