Ok Ive come to the realization that I cant afford a Magnaflow catback so Im just going to slap on some mufflers. I stopped by Magnaflow's site but I cant figure out what muffler fits my car. The 6" rounds look cool but there are a few different sizes. Anyone have any experiance with them, maybe know what part# I need? Thanks guys.

take my advice... I know what works, and what doesn't from friends, and what I put on my car... price/brand are NOT everything... I got a really cheap, no-name product... amazing quality, sound, performance... a mustang-tuned turbo muffler will work ok for you, about $15 each through summitt... you can get a good catback for about $200 through Jegs mustang section... let me know if you want more part help :nice:

In my opinion, if you really want something ... don't settle for less.

Get it.

I've sold myself short on some items for the stang before, and the buyers remorse afterwards just sucks.

If you can't afford it at the moment just continue to save up by putting a little money away end the end of each month toward the specific item you're wanting to buy. When the time comes around to buying it, congratulations you got exactly what you wanted and should be pretty happy with your decision to hold out.

I'm saying this because I think it'd be wise to hold out and get a whole catback system with larger tubing (assuming you haven't already done this) where as there will really be no performance gains (other then a different sound) with just mufflers alone. It always helps when those shiny new mufflers are coupled together with larger mandrel bent tubing. :nice:

Ok lets back up a bit, I forget I dont have my setup in my sig. As it stands now I have a full exhaust with a Flowmaster American thunder catback. My problem is the mufflers resinate soooooo bad I need a quick fix for freeway driving. The car has much more immidiate needs like a complete suspension overhaul ($600-700 at least). Hence I need a cheap fix for the exhaust and I really like the sound of the Magnaflow. As for alternate brands I had some bad experiances with my last car going with no name. I would rather spend the extra flow and have the piece of mind than just hope I got a good knock-off (not that its a bad alternitive, just personal experiance). Anywho, so back to the original question, anyone know part #'s or have experiance with Magnaflow mufflers? Do they have to be welded in or are they bolt on(bolt on is prefered as thats what the flowmasters are now)? Thanks again

magnaflows are nice... good product, and good - "straight-thru" muffler design... but still, I'd just go w/ some summitt mufflers... I have a generic mustang-tuned muffler, cost about $40 for both! ... and summitt's are only $15 each... so, after you try them out, if you still hate them, just sell them on ebay or something... and you wouldn't be out that much money... as far as the magnaflow, they are like $60 for each! and if you don't like those, then you're pretty much screwed...

Thread Hijack !

Anyone have anythings on the Spin Tech side exit cat-back systems, looks like it might be the answer to my Drag tires clearance problems. Are they really loud(Flowmaster 2 chamber or Mac) ? How about subframe connectors ? Will they clear most style ?

Thanks,

K.
