Has anyone with a Vortech setup run their without the Vortech (needs service) and kept the alternator in the same place?

You can see by the pic that the T-bracket connecting the alternator to the Vortech will not be there for support, but there will be the 2 bottom bolts.

Need suggestions for temporarily supporting that the top of the alternator (or can I run the car for 2 weeks without it?)

PS...Thanks for pointing that out Joe...Im sure we'll figure something out.

Thanks

Joe, they say "10-14" business days to work on it... You gotta figure a good 4-5 days each way ground UPS.

All in all that would really be about 3-4 weeks.

I may just go and rent a car, and give myself time to take a few things apart and work on it. Ill give you a call about it Joe, so you dont waste trip.

RC, like i said in your other thread, there won't be anything to attach the alternator to that will make it so you have enough strength to hold it. i think your going to have to either put the old one back or rent a car and use the down time for something else.

I talked to my "general mechanic" (he does my A/C electric, etc, not performance stuff) and he said he always has a couple of cars around the shop that he has gotten cheap and fixed up for future use. He told me to get the Vortech off and ship it in, then we can work out something with using one of his cars.

Or go to HD, get some cold rolled steel and fab something up. Depends on how much driving the car is worth to you.

If you have other things to do and don;t mind the $$ to rent a car go that route otherwise you are looking at fabbricating a bracket somehow. there are bolt holes in the head that you can use for a bracket right?
