Need Advice on Winter / All-weather Tires!

Well to start, I've got no name 225 / 55 / 16s on now... They're some sort of rain tire, but they're old and bald, so of course it's a real treat to drive in the rain, not to mention snow driving..

I'm getting some new tires. I want to go a little wider all around with some 245 / 50 / 16s.. Is this gunna look crappy on my stang having a little less height (It's on ProKits right now)? Can I expect a difference at all with changing sizes? and Lastly, perhaps most importantly, any recommendations?

I've ran some yokohamas on previous cars and they served me well, so I was looking at these guys:

^ will those fit hehe, and any suggestions for a good all-year tire? Not necessarily a tire thats gunna be seeing much track time sadly..

Yes, I have a recommendation on winter tires. Get something with plenty of sipes, and preferably mounted on a wheel that is attached to a different car than your Mustang.

Barring that, I had Michilin Symmetry tires on a previous car (not the Mustang) and they were incredible in the snow. I think the Energy tires are similar. They won't do much in the summer though. So get some 17" wheels for the summer and some strickly summer rubber on those.

Oh, and if you really want a winter tire, then go narrow - not wide. You really get snow in Kansas?

Don't go w/an "all-season" tire.
They do neither season well.
Get a second set of rims for winter use & get Bridgestone Blizzaks---they are the best for snow.
Mine are on a set of Mach1 rims & they will go on the day after Thanksgiving.

A friend of mine with a VW GTI runs the Bridgestone Blizzaks in the snow and he was really impressed with them the first time he tried them (been getting some serious winters in New England in recent years).

My prefered snow tires of choice are 32x11.5/15LT attached to my Bronco

Go to Tire Rack they have some really sick looking snows especially in the blizzak line.

Hold on, this guy lives in Kansas not Colorado. Think twice about snow tires unless 80% of your driving is on snow covered roads. Otherwise you are needlessly handicapping yourself on the wet and cold but otherwise snowless roads you will spend most of your time on. Snow tires can actually be much less safe if used in the wrong environment. They are very greasy and weak for anything but snow pack and ice.

Just my humble opinion though.

we got our first snow yesterday here in Kansas City.

we start putting customers snow tires/wheels on about now and they drive them all winter long without incident. it's weird to see an M3 with 19" wheels and snow tires.

i don't suggest snow tires anyways, or an all season tire for that matter. a tire with good tread and a little restraint and skill will get you around here no problem.

if you want i have a set of mach 1 wheels with new tires i would sell you.
