seems like every other night there are younger guys age 15-19 around my car when I am inside late at night....some walk by slow and others stop and try to look in the car. and that is just what I have seen while looking out side once in a while. I am not sure if anyone has tried to open the door or not maby they just like that car and are trying to get a good look at it or what. But I don't trust many people around my car especially strangers. I am getting sick of going out when the walk by and going for a drive then come back thinking they are gone only to see them just around the corner or pretending like they are waiting for a ride.

I need a good alarm that will go off if the car is touched. I don't have power locks or windows if that matters at all. and also it would be nice to be able to make it honk if I see someone by my car at night and I can just push the button instead of going to scare the away.

any sugustions or any thoughts what I should do.

remote starter and a 5 speed don't mix well. My friend had a civic 5 speed and he was showing off his starter and parked the car under a ford truck

I have a Python, but I mostly got mine for the keyless entry. The install at Circuit City was ok, only had to move a couple of wires so they were better hidden. I like the quality of mine, its in the viper series, DEI electronics. As far as going off if they touch it, you will have to see what sensors are available. I used to have an alarm with proximity sensor, if you walked by the car it would go off, especially by the doors. The sensor was in the console. Unfortunately no car alarm is good, if no one is around to hear it and do something to stop the perpetrators. There are alarms that will page you too.

Whats wrong with a Viper? I havent heard anything, they're rated rather well by insurance companies, its got a starter kill, loud as hell, 2 way. I have one and I have no complaints. (Viper 5000)

i have a new Prestige Platinum+ alarm that i like. it was about $350 here, but i think in the states its just over $100. Its a 2 way with a screen, and works like 1km away or something. I live in an apt with underground parking thats been broken into a couple times. i can see what part of the car, what type of impact (door open, glass impact etc.) has happened without having to see my car. the lights flash, keychain shakes and beeps. i'd def. recommend a 2way alarm. a lot more piece of mind!

I wanna just gonna post that. But i was gonna suggest hiding in the bushes.

Airhorns are much more intimidating.

ive been dealing with alarms for about the past 12 yrs and so far about the best alarm i have found is the old alpines. the super old 8080 and the last badass one was the 8063 which i have in my sentra for the past 5 yrs. if you can find an alpine 8063 on ebay pick it up. they still sell for about 300 on ebay and they stopped making them 4 or 5 yrs ago and went down to low level alarms and finally just stopped making thme all together.

if your looking a new alarm only go with a clifford. its still made buy DEI but they are really nice. they have tons and tons of features but youll also pay about 1G installed.

Wow thanks for the info bloop. My car has a broken door handle b/c some kid stuck a screw driver trying to breakin... what an idiot. BTW ryan, most of the alarms have a shock sensor where if they are bumped it will go off. Most likely someone trying to slice a top will bump the car.

I think it looks good, good but cheap...
