At the end, of last winter, I noticed a slight tick accelerating through 2500-3500 rpm. When the weather grew warmer it went away. So I forgot about it.
Now that colder weather is back, I hear it again. Same tick, not too loud, at 2500-3500 rpm. If I downshift and stomp on it, it is much easier to hear. Seems to be rather harmonic, not random.
I do not believe it is an octane related ping, I have tried moving up in octane and it still persists. Is this an exhaust leak? Could it be a dreaded loose/blown plug?
