So I installed a set of BBK shorty headers on my 1992 GT along with an off road X Pipe with o2 sensors, no cats. Well after installing the X-Pipe and headers there was no spot on the off road X-pipe to run the vacuum line, exhaust check valve line, from the old cat. converter to the air pump. I'm assuming this is an exaust check valve that ran from the stock h-pipe to the air pump?? So I plugged up the vacuum line that used to go to the stock H-pipe and now the car will die out when I take it out of gear getting off the freeway or after I get on it a little and I take it out of gear. I went to a couple local shops and they said this 'stalling' or chocking out was happening because the exaust check valve I took off. Any Advice on what to do?? Is there a way to reroute the vacuum line somewhere else?? Any advice would help, I'm actually considering putting the stock H-Pipe back on so that vacuum line and exhaust check valve has a place to go because the car shutting off at 70mph getting off the freeway is not fun. Please Help

Other mods include a Flowmasters, Trick Flow upper and lower, BBK 75mm Throttle Body and EGR Spacer and Cold air intake.

I really dont see how capping off the air tube would cause the problem your having. I could be wrong though. Perhaps you could use a short belt to bypass the smog pump so its inoperable.

The vacuum line to the stock H pipe is NOT a vacuum line... it is a line coming from the smog pump that is designed to blow fresh air into the cats. Since you blocked it off, the pump is trying to pump air and can't, so it's creating considerable drag on the engine and that is what's causing the stalling problem. Just unplug it and let it vent to the outside... won't hurt a thing. And since you said you're gonna need to put the stock h pipe back on every year to pass emissions, then it should be easier to hook back up.
