Anyone know what is a fair price to have the front stock bumper repainted at a quality body shop for a 2003 Gt? Stone chips from Ohio's shi*** roads are driving me crazy. Didn't get any quotes yet.

Thanks - I'll get some quotes in the next few weeks, but may just wait until fall before storage.

I thought my front bumper was trashed and needed painting, had what
looked like rock chips and permanant marks that wouldnt just wash off.
I took out my orbital polisher with some warm soapy water and some
turtle wax polishing compound and almost 95% of the marks came off.
Bumper looks almost new now.

Where ya at in ohio? My father owns an outstanding body shop right across the ohio-PA boarder. i work there. we're direct repairs for all insurance companies (not a backyard butcher... real bodyshop).

good point streethorse. never hurts to spend a few bucks trying some cleaning/polishing products before spending a few hundred on a repaint. i have gotten a few quotes for a respray for my front bumper. prices range from $200 - $450 ($450 is ludacris imo).

i recently tried some CG bug & tar strong wash. that alone helped a good bit. this is by far the best bug remover i have seen yet. ive also purchased some Meguiars 105 ultra cut compound to hopefully remove some of the etching. havent used it yet but intend on getting a friend of mine who is a detailer to try it out with his rotary. if it improves it by 50% or more, im saving my money instead of paying for a respray.
