Hey guys,

New to the boards, only posted looking to buy a vehicle. Well I picked up a used '01 GT with 34k. Its list of mods are as follows:

K&N Drop in Filter w/ Silencer Removed
Magnaflow Catback
Tokicko Shocks/Struts
4.10 Gears
SCT X-Cal 2 Tuner (93 Octane)

My next thought was gona be to get an X-Pipe. My question to you people is where is the cheapest place to get a catted X-pipe for my vehicle that will bolt in and could you give me a link! I was thinking UPR, anyways thanks ahead of time.

Tim
PS. You guys have any guess as to what I'd run in the qm, its an auto.

Hindsight is a bitch.

Figure out what your goal for the car is first of all. I made the mistake of buying parts for a certain set up, then changing my mind, then changing it one more time. Now that I've got a set clear goal ahead of me, I can effectively mod my car to get the most bang for my buck. I wish I would have just stuck to my guns like this the first time around. I would then have had saved money and would probably have a faster car than I do now.

Food for thought.

Links anyone?

Can anyone find me links to the lowest priced catted x-pipes they can find? Im searching the net too, just wanna get the best deal. Thanks. It looks like its a toss up between pypes, upr, magnaflow and bbk I think. Any links to any name branded catted x-pipe with the cheapest u can find it would be appreciated. Im looking to order one soon as I have alot of popping in my exhaust and think its due to the stock h-pipe. I looked at it underneath the car and the x-pipes look like they would flow much better.

Here is the question though, Im not sure whether to order 2.5 or 2.25, its stock h-pipe but the previous owned installed a flowmaster catback... then had magnaflows welded into that. Would it be 2.5 from the mid pipe back or what? Im prob gona have to measure.

I assume your car isnt lowered yet. You should get the x pipe later & get some H&R super sports & Maximum Motorsports caster camber plates. I would rather get rid of the 4x4 stance first, & handle better. You already have a catback, so Im sure your car sounds pretty good 4 now. The x pipe will make it sound even sicker, but will only gain you a few horses for now, until you really mod your ride. Just my 2 cents.

If you want power go Magnaflow-

if you want cheap go UPR or VRS or BBK or pypes-

Comparing Magnaflow to one of those is like comparing a Mustang to an Escort-

They both say Ford on them and have 4 wheels- but they sure aint the same

 LOL!i hope your not serious bro.. haha for real. like the difference, (if it even does exist which i dont believe it does), would make that much of a difference

I've got a Bassani O/R X Pipe (no cats) and the Magnaflow Magnapack full catback, here's a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NhYPgJJU7O4

I highly suggest getting one of these:

DrGAS: tru-x design; unbeatable sound
Bassani: clam-shell design; superb quality, kinda pricey (just don't get the BX series); unique sound (after having owned one for 2 years, I can pick a Bassani O/R X out of a line-up)
UPR: tru-x design; pretty reasonably priced; heard bad things about fitment issues

I'm glad you chose to go with an X...they provide great upper-end torque gains. Off the line, since you have the Magnaflows (straight-through mufflers), you'll probably notice a slight loss of torque (your exhaust is FULLY open), but when it gets into the higher RPMs, you're engine won't drop the power as quick as it would with an H pipe.

X pipes also sound very exotic to me for some reason. But this is all just my opinion.

Having said all that, if you're honestly looking for low-end torque, you should probably go with a catted X or an H pipe.

If you want power go Magnaflow
:nonono: We're not comparing headers here, just X pipes.
