After i replaced the pushrods and put everything back together, the engine turns over and doesn't start. any ideas. strong gas smell from exhaust, if i push on the throttle it acts like it wants to start, but doesn't.
My 1st guess would be that you adjusted your rockers wrong. Probably too tight leaving the valves hanging open and bleeding your compression off into the exhaust.
When i torqued down the rockers i did it how the haynes manual said to do it and torqued them down to 23 ft/lbs. It said 18-25. if this is it is there anyway to check it without taking it back apart.
You are absolutely 100% sure you have the rotor pointing to the #1 wire, with the #1 cylinder at TDC???
