need help ASAP- blew out front plug in upper intake

went to the track this morning to try out the new V2 SQ trim. Made a couple passes that were not that good. Best pass was 12.1. Been having some issues with my foot not being able to push the pedal all the way to the floor cause it catches on the carpet. Well I trimmed the carpet back a bit. Low and behold the next pass the car took off like a bat out of hell. Shifted to second and POW - sputter- sputter-sputter! The front plug in the upper intake was missing. The track guy found the plug (looked like it had been run over and had a few sratches)and I was able to tap it back in enough to get home.

I removed the upper intake. Looks like the rear plug was a little loose and has been for a little while. It had some oil grit surrounding the area.

Question are - can I just get the same dimension plug (freeze plug)and tap it back in? Go with a rubber expansion plug? or is there something better?

I dont know if you have a machine shop in your area and don't know if this will work for the intake but I have a friend who has a built block and he has screw in style freeze out plugs in the block he had it machined like that might be something to look into you must really be pushing alot of boost to blow the plug out of the intake sweet!!!!!

Why do they even have plug holes in the upper intake anyways?

I bought some metal expansion plugs and tapped them back in. Heading back to the track today so we'll see if they hold. I did buy a rubber screw in type expansion plug just incase another one pops out. Also torqued the bolts on the lower intake to specs. No idea why they were so loose.
