Need Help Cant Get 2014 Into Neutral Dead Battery

Help... I just went to get out my mustang and the battery is dead...tried to get it into neutral to push out to jump start and it wont go into neutral....read about the shift lock but cant find it on my mustang is it underneath the long thin cover to right of shifter? my husband wants to jack up rear end and push out I say NO....HELP...

Is the e-brake on? If the battery is dead, you have to manually release it. If I recall correctly, requires a screw driver. The owner's manual should tell you what to do when the battery is dead.
